Honor is a complicated word that can be associated with honesty, respect or paying what is due. Honor is not the same thing as obedience, silence or even care-giving. To honor our parents (chosen and given) we must lead with the imperative to recognize and build on the foundations they have provided us. Sometimes that includes repairing cracks, adding on and taking away but all to create a stronger structure.

- Does anything obscure my ability to give a true account of the contributions my parents have made in my life?
- Do I run from the ways I see my parents showing up in me?
- How do I honor their contributions (e.g. gratitude, ending cycles, telling the truth, encouragement, etc.)?
