we need a revival!

I’m preparing to go on a revival tour. We are kicking it off in Durham. The purpose is to gather us, connect us, to our resonant callings and shared resources. Said another way, the purpose is to connect us to ourselves and one another. So, if you benefitted from Mobile Homecoming Sunday Services and our Black Feminist Chu’ch provided spiritual food to you, then invite me to preach.

My goal is carry our collective visions and to weave our missions together.

If you haven’t experienced the transcendent possibilities that draw from a Black Feminist activation of Black Church cultural traditions in the southern U.S.; if you haven’t experienced the spirit summoning power of free Black LGBTQ Church musicians, then I encourage you to attend when and where you can or to extend an invitation. This is a space where you can connect with your own and collective purpose in linear and non-linear ways through catharsis and ecstatic clarity. Come get hype about our collective calling, abundance and power.

We come together to live the world we vision. Be about it. My theory of change is a praxis of transformation rooted in my relationship with you. It’s in the soul of our stomps more than the status of our strategic plans; it’s in the swell and rumble of the hammond organ more than conference panel; it’s the story in the song more than the intelligent well-crafted messaging, AND STILL I want to know your plan, what you said at the conference, the messaging you are prioritizing right now so that I can spread the word in these sermons that are for us and by us.

Be Together

I/We also intend to raise financial resources alongside the primary resource, our connections and generative relationships. The funds will seed gatherings that are not conferences but spaces for us to be together and grow together.

If Mobile Homecoming has taught me anything it’s that anything I think I need, someone in my community has access to it. FACTS! The analog and digital technology I am sharing on this revival tour is intended to bring this reality present for each of us. We have what we need!
